Farewell 2023!

Hey all! We are now here at the end of 2023, and it doesn't truly feel like it. It's been a long time since my last blog post, but hey better to update it again than to just leave it in the dust forever I suppose. This year was an interesting one for me, as like many years prior there have been ups and downs, but a lot of the 'ups' this year have been pretty good. Growth would be an appropriate word for it. Coming off the heels of 2022 and recovering from a lot of burnout I was experiencing that year, the start of 2023 was a bit rough along with other life stresses. However despite all that, I've learned and grown quite a bit in regards to how I should be managing my work and myself. I successfully created more comics, and finally got my new series "Temple Hunters" off the ground! Animation has certainly taken a back seat as of late, but that's ok. I still love animation, but I've come to realize (especially this year) I'm much happier with it when I'm not forcing myself to make it my main career source, and instead doing it because it's something I'm genuinely having fun with.

Speaking of comics, "Dinosaur Bones" has been going strong still and I'm really happy about that! We're approaching comic #100 soon and I find that pretty exciting. So exciting in fact I have a fun plan to celebrate it when the time comes, but we'll come back to that another day. ;P

As for "Temple Hunters", I still have Chapter 2 in the works! Honestly I was hoping to have chapter 2 ready by Thanksgiving of this year, but unfortunately I didn't make that happen. So hopefully I will have it out for y'all early in 2024. More adventures with the Temple Hunters crew are to come and I'm very excited to share them with you all.

Along with these comics, I'll also be doing more one-offs here and there featuring my other characters and ideas. This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, and I've finally got the ball rolling on it with a recent comic featuring Crystal, Marv and Sir Valiant! I would love to do others with them, as well as some featuring Olivia and Dana, Wendy, and Kiki. I can't say for certain when they'd happen just yet, but they are ones I definitely want to see through. ^_^

In other news, my Twitch streams have been seeing some solid growth too! I feel like I've hit a groove that's left me and the audience pretty happy with the streams. For a long time I was keeping my streams dedicated to ether projects specifically for them, or for poll winners from the Patreon page. That worked for a while, but after a certain point it became increasingly difficult to come up with new ideas just for the streams, along with juggling personal projects and commissions. A change I'll likely be doing going forward is working on my big projects (comics and animations) live on stream. I started this out recently with the Crystal comic, and I feel like it's a really good direction to take things in, especially for stuff like Temple Hunters and Dino Bones.

That's all I've got for now. All in all, like I said, 2023 was a year of growth and figuring things out for the future. Thank you all for your wonderful support, it truly means a lot, and I'm happy to be able to entertain y'all with my silly cartoons. Here's to a brighter 2024 folks!
