Marching On
Hey all! Hope you've been well.
We're already in March, pretty crazy how quick time is already passing. In that time though, I'm doing my best to keeping making more art!
I had finally gotten around to completing this short animation. I'm fairly happy with the result, and am glad I can say it's something I finished instead of leaving untouched for months on end. Speaking of animation, there will be more to come soon. I'll be doing more short clips like this to keep my skills from getting rusty, but along with that, there are two larger projects I've had in mind for some time. One will be a silly parody, which I'm hoping to have released by the end of April, and the other will be a cute animated short that I aim to have done for either June or July (depending on how much free time will be given to work on it). The latter will be a cartoon featuring one of my favorite characters of mine, Kiki!
I figure I can share this now, since I'm ready to take on the challenge. Kiki is one of the more time consuming characters to animate for me, considering the details of her stripes. BUT I've been working on myself a lot when it comes to confidence, so I'm not so much intimidated by it now. Haha!
It's been a long time coming for her to be in her own cartoon as well. She was meant to be featured in an animated short way back in 2014, but back then life was throwing a lot of challenges my way and I ended up dropping many projects I had hoped to make. I always felt bad about it, but now is a good time as any to finally give this cute little hunter the spotlight she deserves! I'm very excited to start work on it, and I hope you all will enjoy it as well.
In other news, my new comic "Dinosaur Bones" should be ready to make it's debut at the end of this month! I've been working very hard on it, so it's been getting the nerves going at the thought of finally releasing it. Trixie seems a bit more relaxed about all of it in this recent illustration though. ;P
The comic will first be featured on the website, Webtoons. I'm hoping it works out, to be perfectly honest. Eventually though, I think it'd be nice to have a site specifically for the comic but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
And as fun as it is to work on these projects, I've been looking into new outlets for income. Money is always a topic that makes me feel gross (no pun intended), but this is certainly how I want to earn a living. I'm looking into opening a Patreon sometime soon, and once I have a better setup, potentially even doing art streams. My close friends, family, and my wonderful girlfriend have been a big help with pushing forward on this and I'll go into further details with these in a future blog post. For now I figure I'd just let you all know that these things are in the works. If you're unable to "contribute" when that time comes, no worries at all, I appreciate your support either way. <3
That's all I've got to say for now. Until next time folks!
Keep on being creative!
