Bein' Busy

"Busy" is a good word to describe how I currently am. Haha!

During this Memorial Day weekend I did a lot of activities with my family, and on Saturday I attended my hometown's annual Festival (with the help of my lovely girlfriend) for the first time in a few years.

I was a vendor doing caricatures for customers, and thankfully it was a wonderful day both for the occasion and for business! Many happy customers, and thanks to my past job working in caricatures professionally, I had plenty of experience to back myself up for the crowd (and the heat).

I have also been doing caricatures at small local craft shows/parties every weekend through all of May, and they'll be continuing into June as well, so I'm rather happy to see it making some decent traction as a side business for myself.

Along with all this, I've had a new animated short in the works. I don't wanna say too much about it because I would much rather the whole thing be a fun surprise! Especially since it's been quite a long time since my last cartoon short. However, here is a little snippet of a scene I spent time on today.

The plan is to have the cartoon finished by the end of June, and so far it's looking like that'll be working out just fine! It feels like forever since I've had the drive to make another one of these like I am currently, but that has a lot to do with self-confidence and motivation, which honestly is a subject that shall be touched upon in a future blog post. I have a lot to say on that matter and would rather talk about it with a more cohesive structure as oppose to the rambling of this post. Haha!

Finally, on top of all these caricatures and time consuming animation, I've made some new drawings of my characters Roxie Raptor, and Princess Purrsia.

For now it may seem like I just have these characters sitting around with nothing to do, and believe me it's been pretty tough deciding how I want to go about what I wanna do with them, but there ARE wheels in motion here. They will be featuring in future comics I have in the works, and I'm more than excited to start sharing them with you guys, however I want them to be fully ready for posting when the time comes. I can't promise when their comics will be coming, but I'm working on making it happen sometime soon. They've both been in the works for quite some time now and I just want them to be as best as they can be.

That seems to be all I got for now. I'll be continuing my busy schedule through the rest of this week, so I'll be back again next week with hopefully more fun stuff to share!
